Eid al-Adha 2020 in India began in the evening of Thursday, 30 July and ended in the evening of Friday, 31 July
Bakri-Id is an important festival celebrated by Muslims worldwide. The distribution of meat among friends and relatives and chant the Eid Takbir aloud on this day.
As per the notification issued by the Government of India on holidays 2020, the festival of Bakrid falls on 1st August 2020 Saturday.
Delhi Government declared as Government holiday on 31st July 2020 (Friday) on account of Eid-Ul-Zuha (Bakrid). Tamil Nadu Govt has not declared a holiday on that day.
Bakrid Holiday Change to 22.8.2018 – DoPT Orders
In supersession of this Ministry’s OM of even number dated 14/ 08/ 2018 on the subject cited above and on the basis of the report of Ruiyat Hilal (moon deciding Committee) headed by Shahi Imam, Jama Masjid, Delhi, Syed Ahmed Bukhari intimating that witnesses of sighting of the moon have been received from different cities of India, it has been decided that in Delhi Id-ul-Zuha {Bakrid) will be celebrated on 22nd August 2018 instead of 23.08.2018 as notified vide this Ministry’s OM No. 12/3/ 20 17-JCA2 dated 14.06.2017 for all Central Government Administrative Offices at Delhi/ New Delhi.
DoPT Orders Aug 2018: Change of Id-u-Zuha (Bakrid) Holiday on 23.8.2018
As per list of holidays circulated vide this Ministry’s O.M.No.12/3/2017-JCA-2 dated the 14th June 2017, the holiday on account of Id-ul-Zuha (Bakrid) falls on Wednesday the 22nd August 2018.

All Central Government Administrative Offices located at Delhi/New Delhi shall remain closed on 23rd August 2018 on account of Id-ul-Zuha (Bakrid) holiday (in place of 22nd August 2018).
