Mother tongue details mandatory in admission forms, says CBSE
Details about mother-tongue have been made compulsory in admission forms for all CBSE schools.
Here are the details of the circular that CBSE had sent to all the schools:
At the time of admission to all the CBSE-affiliated schools, the student must required provide, in the admission form, information about his/her mother-tongue and the languages they would like to learn in the three-language system.
The circular has asked all the schools to make relevant changes in the admission forms in this regard. Under the three-language system, in addition to English and Hindi, students will be taught one more language from the list of Indian languages mentioned in the Constitution.
There was controversy recently when CBSE decided to remove German as third language and bring in Sanskrit instead. Under these circumstances, the CBSE has made it compulsory to provide details of mother-tongue of the student at the time of admission.
